In Sri Lankan setting   pre & antenatal care is given at community level and Body Mass Index (BMI) is measured routinely. Also, hematamics are given universally during pregnancy from the second trimester (reference). Double-dose hematamics are considered only following the diagnosis on maternal aneamia.   However, giving a prophylactic double dose of hematamics is not given a consideration as the available literature is limited in Sri Lankan setting.
